In the simplest definition – there are 3 kitchen styles. They are Traditional, Transitional, and Contemporary. Let’s explore each of these kitchen design styles briefly here and in more detail on our web page.
Traditional – known for ornate details especially in moulding and other finishing accents. Typically these are face-frame cabinets and the face of the cabinets will typically have some sort of ornamentation such as beveled and mitered door and drawer fronts.
Transitional – a bridge between new and old and the most popular style of the three. Less ornamentation than traditional, cleaner lines. Ornamentation is still present but it is subdued.
Modern – Typically clean lines with little to no ornamentation or hardware. May use a range of other materials other than wood.
